ALUMINUM PLATE

Aluminum Plate has many applications in the manufacturing, industrial, construction and transportation industries where it can be used both structurally and aesthetically. It is measured by its thickness in inches. Grade 3003 is Highly Polished and is commonly used for decorative, cosmetic and architectural purposes.

3003-H14 Aluminum Plate

(ASTM B209, QQ-A-250/2) Excellent weldability and formability, with good corrosion resistance makes 3003 Aluminum Plate a popular and economical choice. 3003 Aluminum Plate has a smooth, shiny finish and is popular for many cosmetic and industrial applications, including: decorative trim, fuel tanks, food & chemical handling, trailer siding & roofing, etc. This is the most widely used of all aluminum alloys. It is essentially commercially pure aluminum with the addition of Manganese which increases strength some 20% over 1100. With excellent corrosion resistance and workability it can be deep drawn or spun, welded or brazed.

5052-H32 Aluminum Plate

(ASTM B209, QQ-A-250/8) Superior corrosion resistance, good weldability, with excellent formability, makes 5052 Aluminum Plate a common choice for chemical, marine or saltwater applications. 5052 Aluminum Plate applications include: tanks, drums, marine hardware, boat hulls, etc.This is the highest strength alloy of the more common non-heat-treatable grades. Fatigue strength is higher than most aluminum alloys. Particularly good resistance to marine atmosphere and salt water corrosion. Excellent workability. It may be drawn or formed into intricate shapes and its slightly greater strength in the annealed condition minimizes tearing that can occur in 1100 or 3003. Excellent finishing characteristics with bright, clear anodic coatings.

6061-T651 Aluminum Plate

(ASTM B209, QQ-A-250/11) Offers a combination of increased strength, corrosion resistance, and machinability making it the most widely used aluminum grade. 6061 Aluminum Plate is heat treatable, resists cracking due to stress, is easy to weld and machine, but limited on formability. 6061 Aluminum Plate is ideal for structural framing, base plates, gussetts, motorcycle & automotive parts, etc. This is the most versatile of the heat treatable aluminum alloys. This alloy offers a wide range of mechanical properties and corrosion resistance. It is easily fabricated and has good formability. It is weld-able using all methods including furnace brazing.
