CHANNELS

Metal Channels are specifically shaped for industrial and structural purposes. Channels are also widely used for repairs of machinery, buildings and heavy vehicles. Channel in Hot Rolled and Stainless are frequently used in structural applications, whereas Aluminum Channel is more frequently used in architectural applications, such as window or glass frames/bracing.

The channel shape provides superior structural support, making it an ideal product for frames and braces used for machinery, truck beds, framework, architectural trim, marine, building, structural support applications, and more. Improvements were made on the channel by reducing the linear mass and improving the properties around the y-y-axis during the development of the channel. Channels or C-beams are often used where the flat, back side of the web can be mounted to another flat surface for maximum contact area. They are also sometimes welded together back-to-back to form a non-standard I-beam.
